Greater Houston Anesthesiology (GHA) is a Texas professional association dedicated to being the leading provider of perioperative and anesthesiology services in the Houston area. GHA began operations on January 1; 1996; following the merger of six well-established anesthesiology groups. Working together; GHA's 300+ anesthesiologists; CRNAs; AAs and RNs provide more than 200;000 anesthetics per year in 25 of Houston's premier hospitals and surgery centers as well as in several surgeons' offices. In addition; GHA works closely with surgeons and hospital staff to help avoid delayed or cancelled cases and provides extensive acute pain services to make patients as comfortable as possible following surgery and to help patients in their recovery. To help insure that patients receive high quality anesthesia care; GHA has implemented one of the most sophisticated Continuous Quality Improvement programs for anesthesiologists in the country. GHA is organized into clinical divisions and numerous committees and work groups under the leadership of the GHA Board of Directors.
